After CHS, Claudia attended and graduated from Stetson University in 1973.

Claudia and Ken have 4 children between them, Claudia has two girls,
Amy VanderMeer who in her third year at the University of Florida, and
Tracy VanderMeer who is a Senior at South Lake High School.

Ken has two boys, Ken at school in Rhode Island, and David who attends
Rollins College.

Claudia has spent most of her career teaching kindergarten. She was
one of the original faculty of Cypress Ridge Elementary, which is on the site
of the old Clermont Elementary School. She has taught on the same school
grounds since 1976, the name has changed but the school is still there.

Currently Claudia is working on her National Board for Professional
Teaching Standards Certification. (black belt of teaching)
